Indianapolis Baroque: BWV 125

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
6050 N Meridian St.
Indianapolis, IN 46208

Co-led by IBO concertmaster Adriane Post and St. Paul’s Director of Music Brad Hughley, this concert features J. S. Bach’s Cantata  “Ich habe genug” BWV 82 for solo bass, sung by Jesse Blumberg, and the chorale cantata “Mit Fried und Freud,” BWV 125.  The cantatas share a common theme and occasion for composition: The Presentation of Christ in the Temple, where the aged Simeon utters the canticle Nunc dimittis (“Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace”). To round out the concert, Adriane Post and Priscilla Herreid will perform Bach’s exquisite Concerto in C minor for oboe and violin, BWV 1060R.
