Beckemeyer as tenor concertist sings a tour-de-force for the voice type, including an extended accompagnato and arioso to begin the cantata, and an extended recitative and aria pair as the centerpiece of the cantata.

The work is rarely performed so it may be a unique opportunity to hear the work sung and performed. As always, the cantata series in Bloomington featured one voice/player per part to best mirror Bach’s own performing ensemble in Leipzig.
