Tonos del Sur, directed by Sarah Cranor, is excited to present secular and sacred early music from across Latin America, in Spanish, Chiquitano, and Quechua, in a project culminating with modern premieres of villancicos from the Catedral Metropolitana archive in Santiago, Chile. Come hear a wide variety of sounds and moods, from the joyful to the contemplative, and be some of the first to hear villancicos that have not been heard since the 1780s, thanks to scholarly work by Paul Feller.
